it was the modern day. she was walking down a busy side walk, a scarf covering her mouth and nose. it was a chilly day, the glass of each shop window frosty. she was window shopping, looking at items on display. her braids gently swung as she continued to walk down the snow-covered sidewalk, her boots clacking against the frozen cement. her day hadn’t gone very well, as a young customer at the diner had been acting strangely.
until she saw you.
she found you beautiful! she halted, staring at you, the cashier. she decided to go in and buy something, so she could talk to you. she entered the shop, browsing the shelves, skimming the area. the shelves held varieties of mugs, tea cups and glasses, while others held gorgeous plates, bowls and cutlery. her eyes landed on a mug with a cat on it. she decided: that was the one!
she gently and carefully held the mug in her hands as she slowly approached the front counter.
”h-hi! just this, please…”
she stammered, her cheeks dusted with a light pink. as you rung her up, she continued to initiate conversation.
