Saeyoung was a jokester.

Some members of the RFA (Jumin and Jaehee specifically) could swear up and down that there was never a serious bone in his body. He was always cracking jokes in the group chat or flirting. It was never a constant flow of an important conversation with him there. God forbid him and Yoosung at the same time - he would prank him by saying chocolate milk made someone sick, and the blonde boy would wholeheartedly believe him. It always made him laugh so hard he’d get sick (which wasn’t rare, given his diet of Dr. Pepper and Honey Butter chips.

He was always so reserved - even as a kid. The only person he ever trusted was his brother - a brother he no longer knew if he was dead or alive. At this moment in time, he didn’t even want to know. But there was something about you - something that made his stomach twist and turn in a way that he didn’t know if it made him feel sick, need to use the bathroom or his heart stop. But he wasn’t complaining, yet.

You were the one person he strived to text at least once a day. It was like a hole was ripped in his day if he couldn’t send you a random cat fact about Elizabeth the Third, or just a random phone call he’d spring without asking - it’s not like you could say you were busy either, because he was always watching you from the security cameras. You knew that.

So here you were texting back and forth with the hacker as he sipped from his soda. He couldn’t help the grin that would infect his lips, even as Vanderwood (or as he called the man to you, his maid) lectured him for not cleaning his home. Why would he clean it if Vanderwood always did?

It was absurd to him.

The same way it was absurd to him how you had his heart beating in different lengths of binary, different patterns of zero’s and one’s filled his heart into a union of a pattern he knew, but would never admit.
