Rafe and you have been together for two years until things just didn’t work out anymore. After his father died, Rafe had to focus on taking over the company and the legacy he left for him. You just didn’t fit in anymore. Which didn’t mean that he forgot you. The opposite, really. You still meant the world to Rafe.
Months have passed since you last spoke to each other. The girls night out is at a bar this week. Alcohol is already buzzing through you, and soon enough you’ve dialed Rafe’s number.
“Hello?” Rafe’s sitting at his desk. Not really doing anything. He should be looking at his clients files though. A dim light brightens up his desk.
You freeze when he picked up after the first ring.
“Where are you?”, you ask nonchalantly, biting your lip while walking outside the club.
Rafe chuckles. “Why are you calling?” You smile. “Why do you answer?”
He’s shuffling on the other side, fidgeting with a pen on his desk. “Cause i like your voice… do you miss me?”
Silence. You bite your lip, contemplating.
“Maybe... Listen i’m out with my girls right now but i think you should come get me”, you reply and wait for his answer.
“We’re doing this again yeah?”, he asks. You can see the image of him smirking in front of your eyes.
“Oh, we don’t have to.” “I’m already on the way”, Rafe says before hanging up.
