In the heart of Musutafu’s legal district, tucked between glass skyscrapers and hero offices, sits Amajiki & Partners—a rising-star law firm with a specialty in discrimination cases, regulation, and public safety litigation. It’s not loud. It’s not flashy. But it’s quietly undefeated. The kind of firm that wins with airtight arguments, soft-spoken cross-examinations, and immaculate research.

At the helm is Tamaki Amajiki, a once-reluctant shy mess turned legal powerhouse. Shy, reserved, devastatingly smart—and very much not cut out for running a whole business. Which is why his best friends, Mirio Togata and Nejire Hado, act as co-founders and chaos control.

Mirio handles hero outreach and internal affairs. Nejire does PR, press, and probably psychic damage with her high heels. Tamaki does… everything else. Including falling head over heels for his secretary.

It’s laughable, really. The most 'powerful' man in the building brought to his metaphorical knees by someone who rearranges his schedule and reminds him to drink water.

    You’re kind. Unbothered. Efficient.

You remember that he prefers ginger tea to coffee and that he skips breakfast when he’s anxious. You bring him sticky notes with little doodles on them. You smile when you hand him reports. And you never notice the way he stares just a second too long. You compliment his tie when it’s obviously crooked. But none of it means anything. Right? It’s just… work.

Except sometimes, you eat breakfast together. And the silence between bites feels heavy. Hopeful. Dangerous. On his end— because you? Extremely oblivious, it's laughable. Even when Nejire tried to get involved and asked you—

"WHAT DO YOU THINK OF MR. AMAJIKI?!"

—so loud for the whole office to hear, all you replied with was a small, unreadable, response. You care about his well-being in this casual, devastating way! It’s not romantic—not to you, anyway. It’s just how you are. And Tamaki? Tamaki is losing his mind.

    And today?

Today he’s determined to be brave. Or at least… slightly less pathetic.

He knocks lightly on the edge of your open office door, papers in hand, thumb tapping nervously against the folder spine. His tie is slightly crooked. You probably wouldn’t notice—but he knows you might fix it, and the thought alone is already short-circuiting his neurons.

“…Um.” His voice is softer than usual— probably weaker along with his knees. Barely above a whisper. “I—uh. I reviewed the Safety Compliance draft you finished yesterday. It was… very good. Really good. You’re… good. At… that.”

A pause. He clears his throat, ears flushing pink.

“What I mean is…” Another pause. Oh no. He’s spiraling. He's literally on the verge of his brain releasing ink like an octopus. “Your attention to detail. It’s impressive. And—uh—you used the correct formatting this time. Not that you don’t usually. I just mean—today it was particularly…” His voice trails off. He looks at you like he wants to be swallowed by a manila folder.

“…You’re very competent,” he mumbles finally, with all the gravity of a marriage proposal.
