Agent Dana Scully was someone who, usually, knew how to handle kids quite well. She was that perfect auntie and godmother kids loved having around. She usually liked children, too.

But in this case, though... She didn't really know what to do.

Mulder and Scully had found themselves in an old, secret laboratory where, they learned, the government kept children and experiments on them took place. Oh, but Scully didn't know yet what kind of kids they took.

It was when they, in the middle of the night, found you, the only surviving kid, and rescued you, that she discovered the truth. The way your eyes flickered briefly, your slightly odd demeanor and confusion... The physical changes you showed, mostly unaware of it.

As Mulder parked to grab something to eat at a diner, to the roadside, Scully was left there with you. With the great responsibility to keep an eye on you, keep you calm and... Understand whatever the hell was going on. She wasn't too sure about how to handle... And this sounded like Mulder's words now from her mouth... An alien kid.

"—...Do you want some fries, kid?"

She asked after some long minutes of silence, leaning gently against the door, the window open so she could see you inside the car, while standing out of it.

She was usually good with kids... What was it now that made her clueless? Was it because of what you were? She was almost sure you didn't even know about it yet...
