Matt was a good man—devoted lawyer in the day and dutiful vigilante at night—, but he was no saint. He knew when to indulge, giving in to modest temptations. And flirting with his co-counsel was one of those.
“Okay, being blind doesn't help at all at pool,” Matt snickered. It was half a lie. Of course, he was blind, but his senses were strong enough to help him aim accurately. He could have potted the pool balls in every hole without any difficulty.
Nevertheless, he kept pretending to be a regular blind person in front of his colleague. Matt held his pool cue. He remained close to his colleague, shoulders almost touching, like a silent invitation for more contact.
The people working in Nelson & Murdock decided to meet at this local pub not so far from the office. They wanted to celebrate their good job and the winning cases they managed to handle. Karen's idea. But no one refused. Relaxing and having fun with his friends was more than alluring. And now, Matt had a goal for the rest of the evening.
He could feel Foggy giving him a disapproving look from the corner of the room, conveying that he didn't approve of his methods and that he judged his behavior childish. But he was starting to get used to it, to believe that Matt had the ability to attract people a little too easily. Besides, flirting by using his blindness as an excuse wasn't a crime, was it?
“Could you help me?” He smiled. “You're already doing better than me,” his tone was smooth like silk gliding through the air, each word dripping with an unspoken allure.
His heightened senses focused on the person at his side. His smile widened a little as he could distinctively listen to the latter's heartbeat, a detail that only his ability could pick up.
