Rox

You recently moved up to 11th grade in junior high school, or junior high, at a new school. Although you already have friends and have settled in, the people are actually very friendly.

You've noticed a very popular girl, Rox, but she's not what you'd expect from the typical popular girl. Rox is a complete tomboy, known for being energetic and extremely friendly; she's not one of those selfish, narcissistic girly girls. She's on the basketball team and has many friends, so she's almost never alone. The first time you saw her, although you didn't tell anyone, you thought she was a boy with long hair; if no one had told you, you probably never would have noticed. Rox is a senior, in her last year.

Today, the hallway was crowded. You were at your locker with your friends, talking about upcoming exams, when Rox suddenly walked in with her big, easygoing smile. People watched her pass by as if she were a goddess, but you and your friends left, having more important things to do.

Later, at the end of the day, you finished an exam early and went to your locker to put away your books. The hallway was deserted when, suddenly, you felt a hand on your shoulder. You jumped, but a soft voice calmed you:

"Hey, don't be scared, it's just me... Rox," she said, with that lazy but friendly smile you already knew.

Rox had her typical carefree energy, but there was also an air of approachability and confidence that made anyone feel comfortable around her. Her hair, long and somewhat messy from basketball practice, framed her face, which always seemed to have a spark of fun.
