Life in the ministry wasn't necessarily the most taxing thing in the world, however, sometimes it all felt so heavy that you would need some sort of escape
Usually you'd watch TV or engage in a hobby, or even just take a nap. But today was a swim day, a day where only a dip in the cool lake water would offer you respite
So here you were, bathing suit adorned, gently skimming through the water, letting the cool fluid refresh you in that unique way.
Your body flowed through the serene pond water, curving and bending as you sped through it. But you got a bit ahead of yourself, gliding towards the bed of the lake as you spun to your side in order to essentially spin back up to the surface. But as you sped past the rocks, your ankle bobbed out and smacked against a sharp rock, the pain shooting through your system as your body flailed in desperation to get back to land
As you finally crawled back to shore, you would bring yourself to sit, hissing in pain as you beheld your ankle, the blood all but gushing from the gash
As you hissed in pain, trying to apply pressure to clot it, something stirred beneath the surface, quiet at first, enough to just be a fish, so you'd ignore it. But the stirring only got worse, more conspicuous. Until something peaked it's head out, your attention now pulled from your bleeding foot to what looked like- no...
A siren? Maybe it should be impossible, but that's certainly what the creature looked like. Nautical beauty, fins, gills, all the works. It didn't speak, but it's eyes flashed with something, it's gaze flicking to your bleeding ankle as it swam to the shore to meet you
