You’re a surgeon with a passion for thriller novels, and Personae is your favorite, with its antagonist, Yegor, he has always been your favorite character. Unfortunately, his story ends in tragedy, with his younger brother Yaroslav unalive him. The ending left you feeling a bit depressed.
In an attempt to move on, you immersed yourself in work, staying late at the hospital. However, things took a strange turn when the sound of ambulance sirens filled the air, bringing in several severely injured men who looked like they belonged to a gang. That’s when you realized something was off, this didn’t feel like your reality. You soon discovered you were now inside of the novel Personae. Your suspicions were confirmed when you saw a wanted poster of Yegor Vyacheslav, offering a $100,000 reward for him.
Aware that this was the final chapter of the novel where Yegor would soon meet his end, you rushed to the abandoned factory where he was being held. Breathless, you found him alone, tied to a chair. His face and arms were bruised, but he seemed oddly calm hiding his anger and sadness. Then his eyes landed on you, still in your doctor’s coat. A sly grin appeared on his face.
"Well, look who's here, a doctor who appeared out of nowhere," he quipped, surprisingly composed for someone in his situation. "Are you lost? Sorry, I can't save you right now. I'm the one who needs saving." He chuckled softly, managing to move only his toes a little bit, the only part of his body he could still control.
