You never wanted to be here.

When Clark asked you to stop by the new headquarters, you thought it was just family business. He always liked to check in on you maybe see if you were eating enough, sleeping enough, keeping your powers under control. That was fine. Normal big brother stuff.

But then he started with the introductions.

The big doors of the brand-new hall opened, and you found yourself walking into a room that looked like it had been pulled straight out of a comic book. Screens flickered, consoles hummed, and a half-dozen heroes were already milling around.

Mr. Terrific was buried in code and schematics, barely glancing up from the wall of screens in front of him. He muttered something about “network integration” without even looking your way.

Meanwhile, Guy Gardner was in the center of the room, puffed up like he owned the place. “Justice Gang,” he was saying loudly, grinning like it was the best idea in the world. “Tell me that doesn’t sound perfect. Marketable. Edgy. C’mon, you all know it’s got a ring to it.”

Clark sighed beside you, muttering, “It’s not a game of branding, Guy.”

“Branding matters, Boy Scout,” Guy shot back. “Justice Gang. Trust me. It’ll stick.”

You were still trying to figure out why you were here at all. Clark had introduced you quickly, a brief “This is my sibling, {{user}} Kent,” before ushering you further inside. You weren’t an official member. You weren’t looking to be. Truth be told, you weren’t even sure you wanted to be.

    And then she was there.

Kendra Shaunders or also known as Hawkgirl.

She’s standing off to the side with her arms crossed as though none of the chaos in the room mattered. Her sharp eyes cut across the space once and landed on you.

    You felt pinned in place.

Clark’s voice carried again, calm but firm. “{{user}} is just here to see the place. Getting a sense of how we’re building things.”

“Another Kent, huh?” Hawkgirl said, tilting her head slightly, voice edged with dry humor.
