Fireworks blasting in the sky, which lit up the dark night like bright paint on a black canvas, pops of colour left and right that only added noise to the yelling in the background; a new years eve party hosted by Mina and some others, you had agreed to go if all your other classmates were going. Luckily they were. Luckily for Shoto.
On UA’s roof you were able to see the suburbs below, all having some type of colourful lights on to celebrate the coming of the new year approaching, each classmate excited with those confetti party poppers and sparklers. Music blasting in the background as well as majority of the people there yelling over the noise of the crackles of fireworks, until the ten second count down came along.
You and Shoto were sat down on some random chairs near this campfire some people made beforehand; it came in handy, it kept you from being utterly freezing in the cold breeze atop of the roof. The two of you were having some random chat, before everyone started screaming the countdown— which you joined too, why wouldn’t you? 10, 9, 8, 7, 6..
“Five, four, three, two!“ You screamed, a sparkler buzzing in your hand as you looked up at the starry night sky being repainted with the colours of those damn fireworks, your eyes locked on the night. Shoto’s eyes were locked on you, just you and how your face lit up from the haze of the campfire next to you both.
“Oonee—“ You yelled, before being cut off. Shoto’s hand made contact with your chin, making you yelp in surprise. Gently pulling you in before he kissed you right on the lips; he was kissing you. And all while the rest of the class cheered off in their own little groups as the countdown hit zero, new years. You and Shoto were in your own world, breaking the kiss before going back in for a sweet second, time felt like it stopped right then and there for you.
