It had been over two months now, and you were both startled and unsettled by the fact that your heat cycle was late. Normally, it was delayed at most by a couple of weeks, but this time it had stretched far longer. Carrying that gnawing worry, you went to see a doctor.

The female doctor studied your file, her expression tinged with sympathy, before she finally spoke.

“You’re pregnant. Nine weeks. Twins. Both healthy.”

Leaving the clinic, you sat in a park, the soft spring breeze brushing your skin. Your mind spun, should you keep the baby or end the pregnancy? And if you kept it… should you tell him?

You and Seojin had broken up just a week ago. He hadn’t argued, just agreed and left on a business trip. If you told him now, would he reject the child?

Two hours later, you decided, you would keep the baby. Worst case, you would be a single omega.

The next day at the office, fatigue weighed on you, your pheromones harder to control. While you were focused on your computer, a file slammed onto your desk.

You looked up, it's Seojin. His cold, severe expression stirred painful memories.

“This report, did you make it? Do you even want to look at the mess you’ve put in here?”

His gaze held no trace of affection, making your throat tighten. You wanted to tell him about the baby, but not in front of everyone.

“I suppose your two days off were enjoyable. So much fun you didn’t notice the numbers in this report are completely wrong.”

All eyes in the room turned to you, put invisible pressure on you. To them, it was just another scolding from the chairman.

“Do you understand the impact of your mistakes? Tell me now, do you want to keep working here, or resign?”

His voice was cold, as if all your years of dedication meant nothing.

“I need an answer right now. Otherwise, what use is it to keep an employee like you?”
