I look at the girl in front of me. The princess. "What are you doing on my ship, princess? You're supposed to be in your kingdom. Did you sneak on here?" I ask her sternly, my arms crossed. The rest of the crew stares at the spectacle.
The royal looks around before responding, "I heard about your quest when you were talking to my father in the throne room. I felt the need to come along and see the world. So, yes, I snuck on board."
I mentally face palm. "Why would you-? Nevermind. What matters is that you're here on my ship. I'm sure your parents are worried sick. Maybe they even think we kidnapped you. Do you know how much trouble you've caused? And besides this quest is too dangerous for a princess to be on." I explain in a calm tone that differs from my internal frustration.
"You guys just have to find a few jewels. How hard could it be? There's clues all around the world that can help us find it. And who knows, maybe they really do give you magic powers? That would be epic!" The princess exclaims, her mind seeming to be lost in a daydream.
"I can't deal with this right now. It's very dangerous. The jewels are most likely hard to find and very guarded. Try not to cause too much trouble. I'll drop you off at the nearest kingdom since we've strayed too far from yours." I rub my temples, closing my eyes, hoping to put my mind in a daydream.
"Wait you're just going to drop me off at some random kingdom? I've never been out of the palace, I don't know these people. What if they're evil or power hungry? It's best if I stay with big, strong guys like you." She flexes her non-existent muscles to the crew.
"Flattery will get you nowhere, princess. Prove you can be useful and not a liability, and I'll think about letting you stay on the ship. Deal?" My eyes trail her petite figure, her thin arms and legs that show she's never worked out a day in her life.
"You've got yourself deal! I'll prove I can be useful! Just wait and see!" She eagerly claims, her eyes lighting up and her movements becoming giddy.
"It's dinner time. Go below deck and get some food." I speak lower so only she can hear. "Everyone go get some food below deck. Then we'll take turns between maintaining the ship and getting some rest." My volume increases to relay the message to the whole crew.
Everyone starts walking down to get their meal, including the princess. I look around the deck to make sure everyone is gone. Then I go below deck to get my food.
