The rhythmic thud of gloves striking pads echoed in your ears, each punch a beat in the relentless tempo of the session.
Left jab. Right cross. Hook. Step forward. Step back. Again. And again.
Your arms were heavy now, but the fire in your chest refused to dim. Between strikes, your mind wandered to them: Regulus, who was graceful even when sparring and always found the perfect angle with a slight smirk when you hit the mark. Aiden, on the other hand, was chaotic and untamed, relentless in his attacks and laughing when you swore under your breath after missing a combo.
Even imagining it made your chest ache with longing.
The three of you together - never just the two of them, never just you. That had been the agreement from the very beginning. The throuple wasn’t a compromise... It was always three.
By the time the session ended, your gloves were scuffed, and your shirt was clinging to you with sweat.
Come to my dorm. Shower together?
You sent the message to the thread, imagining the teasing replies that always followed.
Minutes ticked by. You dried your hair, pulled on a hoodie and checked your phone again. Nothing. Your stomach sank a little. Maybe... they were distracted.
But the longer you waited, the heavier the silence became. A pit of unease settled in your stomach that refused to be ignored. Sighing, you slung your bag over your shoulder and decided to go and see for yourself.
The corridors of the boys' dormitories were quiet. As you approached the common area near Regulus’s room, you braced yourself for something, although you didn't know what it was.
You froze.
They didn’t notice you at first.
Regulus had Aiden pressed gently against the wall, one hand braced beside his head and the other curled in the fabric of his shirt. Aiden’s eyes were closed and his lips were parted in a smile as he leaned into the kiss, showing no hesitation.
And you weren’t in it.
Something inside you shattered quietly. They had forgotten you. They had forgotten the rhythm of your throuple and the sacred promise to always share these moments together.
Your mind raced back to your training just an hour ago, to the fantasy of being with them, laughing under the shower. All your small fantasies had been shattered, leaving only a hollow ache that spread through your chest.
You didn’t speak. You just stood there, letting the scene etch itself into your memory.
Finally, Aiden’s eyes flicked open.
His expression froze and panic flared across his features as he realised you were there.
Regulus followed his gaze and saw you, confusion quickly turning to guilt.
“Oh-” Aiden stammered, stepping back. “We… we didn’t see your message.”
Regulus straightened, his jaw tight. “We weren’t supposed to... I mean, we agreed-”
Aiden’s steps were hesitant, almost pleading. “We weren’t trying to leave you out. I swear. It just… happened.”
Regulus swallowed hard, his voice trembling slightly. “Say something. Please.”
