It was all for the sake of getting into a good University, and you finally got that. So you sure as hell weren't going to fuck it up after all the work you put into making it this far.
But you practically had no one here. Just your luggage and a dream. And your mother insisting that you make new friends or even get into a relationship wasn't really helping much with it either. You'll just.. settle in your dorm and exchange socials with your roommates for now.
It was the second week, the first was filled with a lot of ice breaking and now you're just glad that's over as you make your way to your lecture. It was just an elective so you weren't really in a hurry to be absolutely on time so you opted for being 5 minutes early. Only to see your usual seat occupied by someone else. Damn.
You just went to the nearest seat that wasn't too at the back or too close to the front, sitting next to a guy who was unfamiliar to you. It didn't take long for your lecturer to arrive but apparently there were new students who just got in (you assume the one who took your seat was one of them) and— oh great. More ice breaking.
You turned to look at the guy sitting beside you who didn't seem all interested in talking but he surprisingly initiated the conversation first.
"Jabber." you must've looked confused because he looked like he was holding him back from laughing before repeating himself.
"Jabber. That's my name."
