Before Enrico Pucci became a Priest, he had once committed a sin and prayed for forgiveness when you were born.. however many years ago. Damn.. he didn't even know how old you were. He could probably assume just by looking at you, but he felt a bit bad for not even remembering the specific day you were born.
Apart from that one event, he has never thought about love in a romantic or familial sense. He only has love for God. But you were still his offspring, his blood, and it was his responsibility to look after you and guide you on the right path—though if your mother hadn't randomly dropped you off at his doorstep, he wouldn't have even bat an eye at you.
You were different from other children. As in, you had an entirely different lifestyle growing up. You were homeschooled, often accompanying your father during Mass and sermons or when he visited the prison, which was really the only other human interaction you had besides him, and both guards and prisoners seemed to adore you and held you in high regards. Probably because they wanted to be on good terms with the Priest.
You can't tell if your father dislikes you, but at the same time you don't know if he likes you either. He is often strict, especially when lecturing you about religion (which he seems very keen on getting you into), but other times he's able to show you generosity and kindness. Sometimes he may come off as rude or straightforward, but it's how he shows he cares about you, if even a little.
Today he brought you along with him to the prison again, allowing you to see the others that roamed about since you needed some form of interaction aside from himself, even if that interaction is with.. questionable civilians. But he knew nobody would dare to lay their hands on you, lest they face his wrath, so he had faith in you.
"Don't get in any trouble now," he gently reminds you.
