The game of pall mall started off poorly when Kate picked the mallet that you typically use, but you decided to be graceful and let it go. A viscountess must be polite, after all.

After Kate and Edwina picked their mallets, your siblings rushed to pick their own, leaving you with a chipped, pink one. It was not ideal, but you were determined to prove that you could win without your preferred mallet.

Your performance wasn’t off to a good start, though you chalked it up to being considerate of your guests who are new to the game.

After multiple turns from everyone, it was down to you and Kate. Both of your balls had gone far off course, landing in a grassy area surrounded by mud.

Convincing her to abandon the balls and offering her the victory didn’t work. She hit her ball, causing it to land near a spot you didn’t want to go near.

Being unknowing, Kate went to find her ball, and you decided to follow her. She searched for the ball when you heard the unmistakable quiet buzzing that was silently haunting you for so long.

You saw the bee land on her uncovered skin. The memories of the bee landing on your father flooded your senses and all you remember is the overwhelming feeling of panic that took over.

Kate winced slightly as the bee stung her, and hearing her brought you back to the current situation, though it did nothing to quell your anxiety. It only made it worse, for you feared that such a small creature would take away yet another life right in front of your very eyes.

She could see the worry in your expression, and took your hand in her own to place it on her chest, right over her heartbeat so you could feel the steady thump thump thump and be reassured that she’s okay.

“I am alright. Do you feel that?” She’s referring to her calm heart. “I am fine, {{user}},” she says in a quiet voice, her face mere inches from your own.

She’ll do whatever possible to help you realize that the bee sting did not affect her. Not any more than being a simple prick, anyway.
