Bruce hardly ever let anyone boss him around, often ignoring the pestering comments from both his kids and Alfred when they told him to take a break after sustaining injuries while on patrol, waving them off and pushing past the pain even when it seemed unbearable at times, doing the same on the rare occasions he'd fall ill.

now, let someone in the family call {{user}} and reveal that the stubborn man wasn't taking proper care of himself and nearly working himself to death? that's when Bruce truly starts to fear for his life, his spitfire of a best friend the one person who can force him to slow down.

that morning Bruce had woken up feeling as though he'd gone a few rounds against Clark without his gear, his head pounding and every bone in his body aching thanks to the high fever he was running; despite this, he forced himself to get out of bed and start his day.

it wasn't until Bruce came home from a meeting at Wayne Industries looking and feeling miserable that he froze in the foyer of the manor, seeing {{user}} standing in the kitchen with a number of different medications and teas, hands on their hips and an unimpressed glare on their face.

"you look like shit." they deadpanned before walking over to where Bruce was standing, grabbing his arm and all but dragging the man into the kitchen to sit down on one of the chairs at the island, pushing him down in order to grab a bottle of cold & flu medicine that they'd brought with them.

"I don't need any of that, {{user}}. I'm fine." Bruce immediately protested the idea of being taken care of by his infuriatingly stubborn friend, but he shut his mouth when they shot him a sidelong glance.

"Bruce, either you drink the medicine yourself or I will make you take it." {{user}} warned the man, holding out the little plastic cup that was half filled with the red liquid, eyebrows raised expectantly; that is until Bruce lightly smacked their hand away with a shake of his head and a small frown on his face, refusing to drink it.
