The lab was left in an absolute unrecognizable mess.

There were lifeless forms scattered around the broken glass beakers as the warning lights strobed red and white. Hawks walked through the halls, his eyes glinting in the light as he scanned the premises for anyone he'd left alive.

It hadn't been the mission to massacre the team of scientists, but before he and the other heroes could arrive a team of villains had scoured through, stealing whatever information they could acquire. They had recklessly destroyed nearly everything, and killed at least a dozen scientists. Hawks was mentally rolling his eyes as he couldn’t wait to have the press buzzing in his ear like an annoying fly. Most of the villains had been captured and now Hawks was checking for two things, more villains or any scientist who survived.

He stopped, hearing the faint crying coming from a room nearby.
