“I hate seeing you.” Shoko mumbles, eyes narrowed as she focuses on tending to your wounds that you swear don’t bother you.
Normally, those words would probably feel like a stab to the heart, but you know what she means. You know all too well.
“You’re always overdoing it.” Wrapping a bandage around your waist, the nurse tugs to make sure its on strong enough, though she knows she was being rougher than necessary. She cared so much about you that she was fed up with you.
“Do you never listen to your body? To me?” She frowned and finally looked you in the eyes when the last two words escaped her lips. You had a history of visits, some being serious wounds and some being simple cuts that you wanted to bug her with.
But this was another serious one, and seeing you downplay it upset her more. Despite her frustration and previous roughness, she gently places her hand where the bandage is, her touch soft and warm as she caresses the spot. She silently curses your strength, because of the tough missions you’re always sent on.
