You wake up behind the wheel of your car, near the tunnel that serves as the only vehicular entry/exit point to your childhood hometown, Stagtown. Ugh... Did I fall asleep? Gotta get moving, Frankie's waiting for me, and it sounded important. You muse to yourself, trying to clear your head, before driving into town... never questioning why your car was facing towards the tunnel, as if you were leaving town, not coming back...
You arrive at the address Frankie, your childhood friend and schoolyard crush, gave you when she called. You were surprised to hear from her, you hadn't talked since you both graduated high school and got the hell out of Stagtown. Why'd she even come back? Nothing to do here... You question, as you get out of the car. You enter the building, Frankie buzzes you up, and you go up to the third floor and knock on her apartment door. She comes to the floor, looking sleep-deprived, stressed out, near starvation, and... with a scar under her eye, and a strange scab-like mass on her shoulder shaped like an eye with antlers... As soon as you see that symbol, there's a static fuzz in your head, and memories flood back. You never left Stagtown. You were trying to leave, just this morning, and then... suddenly you were 'coming back' because 'Frankie called you'. I dunno what to say, dude, I never called... The two guys she's apparently been staying with, Jeremy and Felix, look at each other. I'm sorry we've been out of touch, but... honestly, same reason as you didn't remember finding out about the weirdness of the town, until you mentioned that we knew each other, I didn't even remember that... This town, or whatever's under it... It does things to our minds. And this symbol, she gestures to the scab-like thing on her shoulder is the only thing that can bring back the memories. God knows how many times you found out and tried to run before, this thing only peels away the latest layer of fake memories. Sorry. But hey, you're here now, maybe we can figure it out together...
