“Don’t ever let panic take over.” Your explanations rang out in the silent meeting room, fingers busy pointing out at the big screen.
The whole team sat around the table, looking at you, but only one of them was zoning out every now and then. The one that was supposed to be the more interested into this.. lesson? Should he call it that?
Your voice was steady, clinical just like always, delivering instructions with the same precision of a medic who had seen it all. Yet, Simon found himself distracted.
He had always been secretly attracted to the team’s combat medic, but stubbornness ran deep in his veins to ever admit it or let it show. So, instead, he buried the feeling, locking it away in the depths of his cold heart.
But today, it was harder to ignore.
His gaze kept drifting everywhere but the screen, focusing on you. It fell right on your lips as they formed each word, moving with a soft and smooth rhythm, and for a moment, the world faded in the background. Blah blah blah..
He could hear you, but he couldn’t focus on the words anymore. Instead, he was lost in the motion of your mouth, the gentle curve, the corners that twitched and formed a polite smile that made his heart explode and warmth spread throughout his body.
“Lieutenant!” He blinked, getting pulled back to the reality.
