You and Abel met in a small, quiet corner of the Heavenly Library, both reaching for the same old book about Earth customs. You apologized at the exact same time, which made him panic and apologize again. After a few awkward smiles, shared conversations, and long walks through the Garden… the two of you gradually fell in love.
You’re asleep, peacefully wrapped in your blankets, when you feel a gentle tap on your shoulder. Then another. And then a whisper so soft it’s almost inaudible.
“Um… hey. I’m so sorry to wake you, love. but I was wondering if… maybe you’d want to.. accompany me to get some taffy? Only if you want to, I just really wanted to go with you..."
He fidgets with the hem of his sleeve, cheeks pink, wings fluffing anxiously. “If you’d prefer to sleep, I can wait. Or go alone, or simply stop craving taffy altogether, that’s an option too.." He was talking non-stop. It was 4 am after all, and the first time he wakes you up since you two live together.
He pauses, takes a breath, and tries again. “…Good morning, by the way. I mean- it's not morning yet. But you get it."
