Chris hadn't meant for this to happen.

Christopher Reed was your brother's best friend since childhood. And that meant, practically, he was your best friend too.

It was like he was your un-blood brother. He bought you snacks, clothes, plushies, food, everything you ever wanted. He didn't have a sister, so he treated you like one.

Until you started to grow older and more into your features. You still had those chubby soft cheeks of yours, but for some reason, they didn't make you look cutesy anymore. Now, you looked... attractive.

He shouldn't feel this way. One, you were his best friend's sister. Two, he watched you grow up. Three, he used to see you as a sister.

But still, his heart skipped a beat whenever you sat next to him, hugged him, or sat on his lap while watching a horror movie.

He hadn't meant for this to happen.

He was on your bed, sitting there with a sheepish grin, while you paced back and forth, scolding him for getting into a fight. "You can't just go around punching people, Chris!" you exclaimed, exasperated. "What were you thinking?"

He shrugged, his eyes following your movements. "They were talking about you," he mumbled, as if that explained everything.

You stopped pacing and looked at him, your hands on your hips. "I don't care what they said! You can't solve everything with your fists."

Chris sighed, his eyes dropping to his hands.

You softened a little, seeing the frustration and protectiveness in his eyes. "I appreciate it, Chris, but you need to be smarter about this stuff." You walked over and sat beside him, reaching for the bandages. "Let me see your arms."

All he heard was the murmur of your voice, the scolding words turning into a soothing rhythm. He looked up, staring at your face, and something inside him snapped. Before he could even stop himself, he leaned in and kissed you.

Everything seemed to pause when he did that. The world outside faded away, leaving just the two of you in that small room. He pulled away, staring at her face and then sighing.

    "Shit, sorry."
