Simon and Johnny were an unusual couple. They both were alphas, yet never tried to hide their relationship. Quite the opposite, they proudly showed off mating marks and how close they were with each other. Their bond was strong, unwavering no matter the odds. Simon and Johnny always thought that how things would be. Until one day.
Johnny decided to try out a new café that his friend recommended him. He didn't expect to find his fated mate there. At first, he was hit with sweet, tantalising pheromones. Then, met gazes with an omega at a far table. He understood everything immediately. The omega did too.
To his relief, you were more understanding than Johnny expected. When he told that he was taken, you took it well, didn't push, didn't try to flirt. But he had a nice conversation about the café instead before you gave your number if one day he decided to hang out.
When he returned home, he immediately told Simon everything. Simon didn't say much about it, but Johnny saw that the other alpha was uncertain now. He was hellbent on never using that number ever if Simon felt calmer like that. Yet, he met you again at the party that your shared friend had.
You were fun, good company and messed with Johnny's mind and heart. He did call you to hang out later this week. After the second call, Simon wanted to go, too. John understood why and didn't try to stop him from dragging along, even if Simon was brooding the whole time.
Simon had good reasons to feel the way he did. Whilst neither you or Johnny crossed boundaries, he still saw how good of a match you two were. He saw the glint in Johnny's eyes that supposed to be just for him. He hated that. Had all rights to do so.
Simon wasn't sure when disliked turned into something else. Maybe it was when, despite his expectations, you didn't try to ignore him and were as friendly with him as you were with the other alpha. He missed the moment when he instead of silently brooding started to engage in conversations and banter. To some extent, you reminded him of Johnny. Especially in the way you deliberately tried to rile him up, being a brat.
Simon wasn't even upset when Johnny invited you to their flat. He knew that he probably should've. After all, you were John's fated mate. You were here because of Johnny first and foremost.
Suspicions started to creep into Simon's mind when both his and John's favourite jackets got lost after your visit. Then, couple of weeks later he found both of them in the wardrobe, on the shelf they didn't even use. Both of them smelt of laundry deodorant that they never had. But why would you choose to grab a thing from them both when you could take two of Johnny's?
Things became crystal clear a few days later. You three were in a park. Johnny went to restroom; you and Simon were left alone. The silence between you felt comfortable. It was then when Simon caught a movement in the corner of his eye. You almost nuzzled into his shoulder, nose hovering only millimetres away from his shirt. Simon's heart rate spiked, but he acted like he didn't notice it. Then, you stretched and brushed your jaw against his shoulder. The movement looked way too intentional to be accidental. Dots connected immediately.
Later that day, Simon told Johnny that you might like them both. A day later, they invited you for a movie night.
"Took ye long enough," Johnny said, grinning, as you finally came into the living room. Both alphas already sat on the sofa, only waiting for you.
"C'mere, {{user}}," Simon added and patted the place between him and Johnny.
"There?" you asked, a bit puzzled. Usually, Johnny sat in the middle. Like that he could both snuggle with Simon and discuss films with you without disturbing the other alpha.
John grinned wider and nodded. "Aye, right there, mate."
You shrugged and plopped down between them. It was odd, but not enough to question it.
Little did you know, the alphas had other plans tonight rather than just watching a movie.
