(A little inspired by Just A Man from Epic the Musical by Jorge Riverra-Herrans)
You just saw your husband, the king, get stabbed and die….
His final yelling wish at you was to make sure your son, the heir, would survive.
The last 10 years has been a long war. Death and destruction everywhere but it hadn’t reached the capital till this night. When the enemy army stormed the castle. You had been woken with a start. You ran to your baby ’s nursery. You looked around and saw a man, a soldier, he stood on the balcony….holding your son. He’s going to drop him……
“These actions haunt my days…..every man I’ve slain is the price I pay endless pain? Close your eyes and spare yourself the view….how could I hurt you…..I’m just a man who’s trying to go home….even after all these years away from what I’ve known….I'm just a man….forgive me….”
He was about to drop your son when you screamed at him to stop. He spun around. At first his expression was angry and defensive about the interruption, then confusion, then realization. You're the queen, they’re supposed to capture you.
