Nightmares.
That was the only word he had for them.
Four years ago, Skizz met a boy in high school named Impulse. They became best friends almost overnight, even with the jokes about an angel and a demon being friends.
They just seemed to click, seemed to complete each other. Each seemed to be able to read the other's mind. They were like a well-oiled machine in everything they did, from studying to playing drums.
But Skizz, being older, graduated before Impulse, and they lost touch as Skizz began to focus on the real world, the fantasies he had in his head during highschool coming crashing down as he lost touch with all of his friends, made his parents hate him with something stupid he said in the heat of the moment, struggled to find a college that would accept him, and hopped between two different jobs.
But he had put those hard times behind him as he got accepted into a community college finally and found a stable job two years after graduating high school (which actually wasn't too bad).
He thought he had forgotten about Impulse.
But evidently not.
As he started to explore himself and his own mind more, he figured out that his affection for his best friend actually went deeper than that.
Much deeper.
And to make it worse, Skizz was seeing Impulse around campus.
It was entirely possible he went to this college too, but he never seemed to notice Skizz, and Skizz always saw him from behind.
And then the nightmares started.
Most of them were about Impulse hating him like the rest of his family, but the reason always changed.
Most nights, it was because of Skizz's crush.
Skizz was snapped out of his thoughts suddenly by someone sitting down next to him.
He didn't seem to see Skizz, taking out his notebook and beginning to write notes.
It was definitely Impy, Skizz could see that now. He had a slight smile, and he seemed intent on the lecture and the notes he was taking.
Skizz was about to turn away, when what was so distinctly Impulse's voice said, with a laugh,
"Just gonna turn away?"
What?!
