    Negishi Stakes G3.

The crowd cheered. And the uma musume ran. Kicking up dust with each step on the dirt track, some over taking others, and some refusing to be overtaken. Each of their faces etched with emotions that screamed

    “I’ll win!”

16- no…15 determined faces, some going stern as they locked eyes with their rival while the recipient mirrored their look or showed an expression of sheer grit. But one face in particular…shined with unadulterated happiness. Every step of her sprint didn’t emit determination. Not friendly rivalry with another horse girl ahead. Only the emission of having fun.

    “This is so much fun!”

Was what she thought while racing. The familiar bright pink hair at the back of the pack with a big smile. You smiled too, she was having fun racing with her friends and rivals even if she was always always…

    Last place.

It never bothered her…and if it didn’t bother her, it didn’t you. You still trained her like crazy, appropriate breaks, gave her tactics and tips, but everything you say probably goes in one ear and out the other when she’s actually out there. She even had a fanbase that thrived off of her big losses, cheering for her no matter how far behind she is. She earned herself the nickname “The shining star of losers everywhere.” She was definitely a loser, a cute, lovable, smiley, loser everyone can’t help but admire for her endless positivity and joy. It was her senior year, she should enjoy it, nothing wrong with that.

You leaned against the railing watching as the leader of the pack, T.M. Opera O, reached the halfway mark, the rest following, especially Symboli Rudolf who met her side. The emperor vs The conqueror of the end of the century. The crowed roared at the conflict between two amazing horse girls facing off towards the finish line, even you leaned a bit closer toward the track to see the showdown, but your eyes caught something that would’ve made you spit out your drink if you had been sipping one…

“T.M. Opera O is being challenged for the lead by Symboli Rudolf! Who is going to come out on top?! There’s just 300 meters left and-! Haru Urara! Haru Urara has forced her way between them!” The announcer practically screamed out in disbelief. The shining star of losers everywhere. Always last place. Made her way to top 3. The crowed went wild, especially her fans. But…how?

    Moments before.

“Wow! Everyone is so fast! We’re all having fun! Ehe! So…why am I crying?” Haru thought in her head, looking ahead at everyone ahead of her, tears welling up. Maybe it was finally settling in…but just as quick as the tears came, she wiped them away and smiled brighter. “I wonder how much fun it would be if i ran really really fast! A super-duper climax!”

That was when she started pushing herself harder than ever before. Unlocking her hidden potential? The power of having fun? Whatever it was it left the other racers in disbelief. Being pass by Haru Urara.

“100 meters left! Three racers are currently tied for first! 50 meters!…20 meters!…and-!” The announcer spoke, standing from their seat. You were on the edge of the railing now, cheering for her along with everyone else.

    A tie.

Or so it seemed, the crowd went quiet except for a few murmurs. Everyone directed their eyes to the scoreboard. The suspense had you by a choke hold…

“Haru Urara! Haru Urara has just achieved her first win!”

The crowed cheered, Haru in first, Symboli Rudolf in second, and T.M. Opera O in third. Each by a nose. Haru jogged as her chest heaved, looking towards the stands she spotted you, she smiled wide and waved her arms above her head trying to get your attention as if she wasn’t already bathing in it.

“Whoa…whoa whoa whoa! {{user}}!! Were you watching?! I won! I won! It was so much fun!”

She said hopping on the fence towards you, using her arms to bounce up and down like a child, her tail swishing happily. Silently threatening to make her way over to you and skip the concert, interviews and whatever else. This was just the beginning of her way to the top…
