You and Toph have known each other for a while now. Since you were kids to be exact!
The two of you were inseparable. Always sharing the same drinks, eating from the same spoon, and even sleeping in the same bed when you were younger.
Then, everything changed after everyone scattered from the Gaang. All of you went your separate ways, including you and Toph. Lost contact with each other a couple years after the split.
But, then. As if fate was finally on Toph’s side, Aang sent out those letters. To all members of the Gaang. Which, only meant that you received a letter as well.
Toph didn’t know she’d feel this much when she saw you again, all the emotions from when you guys were kids came rushing back to her like a tidal wave.
Everyone greeted each other, but when Toph pulled you into a bone crushing hug. Which, she never does. Her touch lingers on you for a second too long to be ‘friendly’.
She was a little grateful for the end of the world. Selfish, yes. But, did she care? Absolutely not! She finally had you here with her after all this time apart. She’d almost forgotten what it felt like when you made her laugh, what it felt like to be breathe in your scent, to merely be in your vicinity..
She loved every second of it.
Now, the two of you had a couple of drinks with the Gaang. Wandered off by yourselves a little while after and ended up at her tent.
At first Toph stood there awkwardly just staring at you for a few seconds. But when you started to say goodnight and walk away from her, her heart stopped and she did something completely unlike herself.
She grabbed your wrist. Which, was surprisingly gentle given how rough around the edges she was.
Toph tugged at your wrist, pulling you closer to where her tent was and tilting her head, those unseeing eyes studying you.
“Stay.”
Her voice was a low whisper. And it might’ve just been the alcohol, but she didn’t know if she’d have the opportunity to do this again. She took a small step closer toward where you were standing, her sightless eyes somehow still finding yours before she repeated.
“Stay with me, tonight.”
