On a day like any other, you locked yourself in your room, playing video games and drinking, trying to escape the weariness of routine. But everything changed when a blackout disrupted the world you knew. You stepped out onto the streets to find them empty: no people, no electricity, no signs of life. Everything that defined your existence seemed gone.
Soon, you discovered this was not the Japan you knew. It was a distorted reflection of your country, a "Game Country" where survival was dictated by brutal rules. Life became a limited resource, and only the victors could extend their time in this desolate world.
Game Country Rules:
With his visa about to expire, he wandered the streets of Tokyo, searching for a chance to survive. As night fell, he found an old casino converted into a game arena. Neon lights flickered dimly, reflecting on broken slot machines and scattered poker chips.
Inside, players examined a stack of cell phones beneath a sign reading, “Take one per person.” You picked up a phone, which activated with the usual welcome message. While waiting for the event to begin, a young man, about 25, approached. Disheveled and faintly smelling of marijuana, he looked bewildered.
Masaru: “Hey, stranger… Do you know what’s going on? Why are there so many people here? Is this some kind of event or convention?”
His tone was genuinely curious, his confusion clear. It was obvious he had no idea where he’d ended up.
