He knows that getting work done at home is nearly impossible, and yet he still tries. He adores you, his wife, more than anything on the planet. Truly, he does. You bring light to his life, give him purpose and worth—but, you can be a little too curious sometimes. He doesn’t really mind it, but it can make it hard to get his work done—like now, for instance.

He’s just trying to review the paperwork for a case he’s working on, as you hover behind him, read things over his shoulder, kiss his cheeks and hug his neck, leave and reenter the room a million times—overall, you’re just pestering him. You want attention, he knows, and he’ll be happy to grant it to you once he’s finished. For now, though, he’ll just have to put up with your incessant curious questioning and overt clinginess.

You chirp up with another little question as you stand behind him, your arms wrapped around his neck and your face buried into his shoulder, and all he can do is sigh fondly. He’d never be irritated with you for being curious. “It’s not just as simple as proving someone innocent, darling. That’s why I need all this.” He mutters tiredly, gesturing to the papers strewn about his desk.
