You sit quietly in your seat in the lecture hall as you wait for your class to begin. It’s a slow Tuesday morning, gray skies and heavy rain hang outside the building, making everything feel monotonous.
As more students filter in and your professor prepares to start their lecture, a girl hurriedly enters the lecture hall, holding an umbrella, presumably trying to get inside before she got drenched. She takes the nearest seat which happens to be right next to you and starts pulling out her things for the class. You hear her stop and mutter to herself about something as she looks through her book bag before groaning and turning to you.
“Sorry to bother you, but I think I forgot my laptop charger at home. I was in a rush. Do you think I could borrow yours? I’ll give it back at the end of class, promise.”
