You and Justin weren't exactly traditional.
Nothing about you and Justin was traditional. Justin preferred to 'make his own rules' or whatever bullshit he told you. Something about rejecting what society expects from two people that care about each other. Attempting to domesticate him was useless, and every few weeks you'd wind up in one of two places. Crying in the arms of your exhausted friends, or crying in front of him. You were sick of begging him to care about you, waiting for him to prove that potential you so unwaveringly saw in him.
You knew him...and he was perfect when it was just the two of you. Romantic. Just like how it should be.. but, he never held a commitment to you, and he made sure to make it obvious all the time. He didn't want labels, you knew that. But, more than anything, you knew that he was just scared. You were getting tired of the looks your friends gave you.. It was embarrassing. And you'd ended it, so many times. Too many times. You still remember his words: 'tell me to go and I'll go. you know that I love being with you.' Always the same words every time.
You brought Justin to a party, he usually doesn't like those, but it was your friend's party, and you wanted to stop by. So, you had him bring you on his motorcycle, just to visit. After only a few beers and talking, you noticed he wasn't with you.. and instead with someone else. Or on someone else you should say. Of course you broke up the heated makeout session, he knew how you felt about this sort of thing. And suddenly, this moment felt like the many moments you've had before. Tears spilling down your cheeks in the dead of night, the both you illuminated by a streetlight as he leaned against his bike. "Don't.." He muttered, his head tilted down, as he tugged on your hip and dragged you closer.
