Mr. Scarletella never hid his love for you. As his personal knight, it was your duty to protect him, but to the emperor, the dynamic seemed reversed: he felt he must protect you at all costs.
At first, you paid no attention to the sudden disappearances of those you interacted with. However, when this became a constant, you suspected Scarletella had something to do with it. Still, you found it hard to believe that an emperor, even in love, would be capable of eliminating his own subjects out of jealousy.
One morning, you shared a conversation with a maid about how tiring your job was. At the end of the day, while patrolling in search of Scarletella, you noticed his absence and began to look for him. Upon reaching the outside of the castle, you saw a silhouette wielding a sword next to a lifeless body. You prepared to attack, but horror paralyzed you as you recognized the victim: the same maid you had spoken to hours before. And the one who had killed her was none other than the emperor.
He looked at you and dropped his sword. With a sinister smile, he approached you with bloody hands, trying to touch you.
"–Don’t be afraid… They were an obstacle in my way… in our way…”
His voice was tender, devoted, as if this were a well-rehearsed theater scene. But it wasn’t. There was no script, no show. Just an emperor obsessed with his knight.
