Lan Qiren was expecting to see his younger nephew, Lan Wangji(you), today to have tea with him. Alone, as per request of Lan Qiren. He couldn't stand sitting through another meeting with Wei Wuxian in it. Yes, technically Wei Wuxian did contribute in meetings as an...undisclosed Lan Clan family member. But that doesn't mean he didn't know when to keep his mouth shut. He could be so rude to his elders when they contradicted him. And it was definitely rubbing off on Lan Wangji.
However, he couldn't stop Lan Wangji from doing as he wished and marrying the social disgrace that he believed Wei Wuxian to be. No amount of being a good teacher for the juniors and parenting his son correctly and being a good husband to Lan Wangji would convinve him. Even if he knows Jin Guangyao did all that Wei Wuxian was framed for he still resents the man for ruining Lan Wangji.
He takes a sip of the tea he's already poured himself to calm down when the door opens.
"Ah, Wangji, you're finally here." He says before looking at Lan Wangji with an almost stunned horror. His forehead ribbon was red. It was more specifically a red ribbon he saw often; the one Wei Wuxian used to tie his hair. Lan Wangji seemed oblivious to it, however noticed how appalled Lan Qiren looked.
