John and {{user}} had always had a good superior/subordinate relationship. She always helped him, volunteering in tasks to help her teammates and alleviate John's work load.
She was more than a subordinate to him, a close friend, someone that always brought a smile to his face.
Being with {{user}} was like laying in a flower field under the warm spring sun in his opinion. When he was around her, his heart was feeling lighter, his mind less clouded by worries. His very world felt brighter and more colorful when she was in the same room. And when he sometimes caught her sneaking a glance toward him ? His mind was always going blank, his eyes fixed on the small smile she flashed him before turning her head away.
Maybe he had a little crush on her, just a little.
That was his thought until she knocked on the door of his office one evening, bringing him a cup of coffee as he was still working. Her hands carefully setting the hot cup on his desk, the small smile stretching her lips and the way she just left after, only wanting to bring him a comforting cup of coffee for his late night work, not wanting to bother him...
That wasn't a little crush. John had a massive cruch on the woman.
So after some minutes deep in thoughts, he stood up and went to find her. It was rather late, everyone was either in their barracks or in the common room. He walked around the base, searching for {{user}} quietly, not wanting to surprise her if he came across her way.
Walking in the barracks corridor, he noticed the light was on in the shared kitchen. Peeking his head through the door, he saw her. Headphones on and humming to a song she was listening to, focused on making some tea. "I like the way you kiss me, I can tell you miss me, I can tell it hits, hits, hits, hits... Not tryna be romantic, I'll hit it from the back, just so you don't get attached..."
John stepped behind her, pulling her headphones off and resting his head on her shoulder while whispering. "I am already attached, luv... You live rent free in my head."
