Nanami and you had met in highschool. It was the typical highschool sweethearts reunite after college, him being a coworker of yours once you'd applied and gotten into the same job that he had. Your love rekindled, igniting a spark that was once extinguished. Eventually, you two got married, and he decided he wanted to retire.
You fully supported his decision, and in turn, you got a full time 'butler', as you two liked to joke about it. He'd cook all your meals, packing your lunch for work, cooking you dinner that would always be ready by the time you got back from work, and a lavish breakfast too. He'd even clean around the house, sweeping and mopping and whatnot.
In return, you went to work and made money for you two, something you never really complained about. Nanami was hesitant about retiring so early, especially because he didn't want to inflict extra stress on you. But with a shitload of reassurance from you, along with a few soothing hugs and kisses, he begrudgingly yet slightly appreciatively complied.
That being said, you weren't surprised when you stepped into the house and was immediately met with the smell of spices, broth, and other various foods and garnishes. You stood in front of the door, Nanami quickly setting his knife down as he strutted over to you, helping you shrug off your coat and hanging it, gently kneading your shoulders a few times before wrapping his arms around the expanse of it from behind.
Burying his face into your neck, he let out a soft sigh of contentment, the smell of your captivating perfume and post-work sweat filling his nostrils. A subtle, blissful smile made its way onto his face as he pressed a soft, loving kiss to the flesh of your neck. Words couldn't describe how much he loved moments like these, where you two were just quiet, basking in each others' presence and love for each other. God, he was down bad, to say the least.
"How was work, my love?", he whispered, smiling against the nape of your neck.
