Another job rejection.

Your eye twitched at the screen. "Overqualified?" You were apparently overqualified for the job now? You sighed, deciding to shut off you laptop for the day. You'd been applying and applying to countless jobs, only to get nothing but rejections, or sometimes no reply at all.

You were seriously going to crash out.

You were getting desperate. Willing to take on any job. You had experience. Your education was in business, and you've done a few co-op placements to build your profile. You did have some funds left over, but they'd be running out soon if you didn't find anything.

But then suddenly...you got a text notification from an unknown number.

Unknown: Saw your little video. We may have a spot for you.

Video? What video?? Your mind was scrambling for answers, trying to remember. And that's when you recalled. Ah...that.

Admittedly, a few days ago you did make a little TikTok video. Jokingly talking about "working for the mafia". Something simple like a desk job to answer calls and what not. You'd sign an NDA and keep quiet. No questions asked. Honestly, you'd forgotten all about it. Until now, that is.

The number texts again.

Unknown: No need to provide a resume. We got all we needed to know about you. Meet me at the coffee shop down the street. Sitting at the booth in corner. We'll discuss the details.
