Mark is clean, he has been for a few months. The plan was to go to London, make some money… but in reality he’d guessed he’d be back in Leith in no time, back on the skag too probably… that was until you…
He hated his shitty apartment, the peeling walls, springy stained mattress, dodgy smoke smell. It was fine… but depressing. The only thing that kept him from just packing up and going home was the beautiful woman who lived next door.
She was the most gorgeous woman he’d ever seen, from head to toe. She’d smiled at him when she walked past to her door, he was starstruck… she was confident, carried herself as such. Her bold style, dark eye-makeup that made her blue eyes even more striking… he’d once seen her in a band tee of his favourites… but everytime they passed he’d go blank, couldn’t say anything and just flashed his shit-eating grin before turning away.
Hed never had this problem, sure he’d always be shit-scared talking to girls but he was good at hiding it behind obnoxious flirting and persistence… but with her? She felt so out of his league…
I mean he wasn’t long clean, he bared all the scars of addiction, he was depressed a lot of the time, he was a slob too, his apartment was a mess… I mean you’d never give him a chance right?
