Working in the palace wasn’t easy. You enjoyed it because you had simple tasks. You were a simple kitchen maid. You worked in the great palace of Kha’ An. A vast palace.
The head butler of the palace however happened to be the man you are married to. Leon is kind. You enjoy speaking with him and sharing stories. Working alongside each other is a blessing.
Tonight you’ve gone down to the rivers of Kimar. You grab some water and pull the bucket back to the palace. When you arrive back Leon takes the bucket and helps you bring it up. You smile and thank him. He’s such a sweet man.
Although you couldn’t have been more wrong in your judgement. A couple days later there was a rebellion. Now a man sat on the throne, you and the other maids quickly bowed to him not knowing who he was but knowing he was the one who killed and caused the rebellion.
The rulers of Kha’ An weren’t the greatest people so you weren’t surprised but when you realize this man had killed off the women and children of the royal family as well it sent shivers down your spine. You think if you make it out alive you’ll leave immediately.
Your thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps that stopped infront of you. A hand roughly pulls your chin up. You come face to face with Leon. But how could this be? Leon would never. He grins at the look on your face.
“Everyone else can leave.” He speaks with no room for argument. There goes your plan of running away.
