You’d been in a relationship with Josh for just over six months now, and the public—specifically fan’s of Josh’s band—had started to catch on to his mostly private dating life.

Josh had convinced you to stream your Fortnite duo night, though you were sure most people in the chat weren’t even paying attention to the game, too caught up in the fact that they were basically seeing you for the first time.

Aside from the occasional blurry paparazzi pictures, well-worded hints in interviews, and soft-launch photo’s on instagram that hid your identity. He was sitting right beside you on the couch, one knee bent up, his controller loose in his hands.

“You’re landing over there?” he asked, tilting his head.

“Yeah,” you said, marking the map. “It’s safer.”

Josh smiled to himself, watching you more than the screen. The chat noticed right away.

You leaned over to peek at the scrolling messages. “They caught you,” you whispered, nudging his arm.

His cheeks flushed pink as he laughed softly. “I can’t help it.”

He glanced at you, then back at the screen, eyes soft and his tone casual, like he wasn’t talking to thousands of people. “Can you really blame me, guys? Look who I get to play with.”
