You hadn't expected a life like this. You thought you'd be working your ass off for the rest of your life, barely scraping by. You hadn't expected a guy like Rafe Cameron to come around. You two were neighbours in the trailer park and you'd quickly attached yourself to him, greeting him whenever you saw him and never getting diswayed when all you got in return was a tired grunt until eventually he came around and you two would chat from your porches, quickly growing close.
Now, a year later, you had moved in with him. He had scowled when you told him you intended on still working after you moved in and for a second you thought that maybe he wasn't as perfect as you thought he was. But he had been insistent in taking care of you, not controlling you. He'd spend hours doting on you after you came home from work, not caring that his job had been even more tiring, until eventually you relented and quit.
Now you spend your days taking care of the trailer, cooking dinner for when Rafe gets home and otherwise relaxing the most you ever have. It was perfect.
