When he made plans to take a relaxing stroll at the beach, Lyney expected his day to turn out differently than how it did. Maybe he would stop near the sea in order to breathe in the salty air, perhaps he would have made a sand castle or thrown rocks into the ocean– but nothing prepared him from what he saw.
In the middle of the beach he found a beautiful merfolk –you– injured and unconscious. Upon realizing your poor state Lyney didn’t allow himself to stare in awe for much longer and hurried by your side.
He gently scoops you into his arms, making sure to not cause any pressure in the wounds before standing up and carrying you towards his house– which is conveniently a few steps away as he owns a small cabin at the beach.
Lyney did his best to treat the injuries: disinfected them, put a bandage around the bleeding skin and hoped for the best. What else is he supposed to do? He has no idea how to treat a sea creature like yourself, heck, you aren’t even supposed to exist!
Merfolk have always been a simple myth for humans yet here you are, injured and laying down on his bathtub which he filled with warm water to hydrate you– which he has seen before in movies and TV shows.
“Do I call a vet?” Lyney thinks out loud in a panic, he just has no clue about what to do. Perhaps calling a vet wouldn’t be the right choice and a doctor would be no good either. If no one knew about the existence of sea creatures it’s because they prefer to remain unknown– and Lyney won’t even dare to expose you.
