Odysseus listened as all the 558 men that drowned yesterday, their souls came out of the water halfway.. crying out, "558 men who died under your command! Captain! Captain! Captain! Why would you let the Cyclops live when Ruthlessness is Mercy!"

Odysseus had to ignore them no matter what he heard was what Circe said.. so he loudly sang, trying to deafen out their cries.
