The morning had started with Charlie tugging on his boots, hair still messy from your hands, and giving you a lopsided grin.
“Be good while I’m gone,” he’d murmured as he cupped your jaw and kissed you slow.
Which, of course, was exactly the kind of thing that made you want to be anything but good.
Now you were in front of the mirror, wearing far too little, holding your phone up as your heartbeat thrummed in your throat. The morning light caught the lines of your body in a way that made you pause, then smirk.
Be good.
Right.
You angled your phone, checked the lighting once, twice, then snapped a spicy mirror pic that made your own breath hitch.
You sent it.
His reply arrived almost instantly.
Bloody hell. I’m at work!
You smirked, leaning back against the bedframe as you typed.
I know. Couldn’t resist🤭
This time the reply took longer—meaning he was absolutely trying to get his composure back while dragons screamed in the background.
Love, my head’s spinning, and I’m supposed to be focused on dragons, not you.
You sat down on the edge of the bed, crossing your legs.
Maybe that’s the idea.
Your screen lit up again.
Looks like dragons aren’t the only thing I should be taming right now
You pulled your bottom lip between your teeth, heat crawling up your neck as you typed back
Oh?
His reply followed instantly, like he didn’t even need to think about it.
You’re in so much trouble when I get home
You stared at the screen, heart thumping, a slow, wicked smile spreading across your lips.
Trouble.
With Charlie.
That could mean anything.
You stretched out on the bed, letting the mirror catch your reflection again.
‘Be good’ he said.
You smiled to yourself.
He really should know better by now.
