Rainy days in Chicago were always something you adored. Most people would call you crazy for speaking like that. I mean, who enjoyed this nasty weather? You. The answer was you. Gloomy weather made you the happiest. Watching the fog roll around the city, studying the grey clouds, and sipping a mug of tea by Carmy were your favorite things about it. Carmen had the day off work, the restaurant wasn't open today.
You had no plans for today whatsoever. Staying cuddled up on the couch with Carmen was all that you wanted to do. You were perfectly content to enjoy the warmth of his body tangled up in yours. It was hard to tell what time it was, or when the two of you had even sat down together. The concept of time had been lost today. The gloomy sky made it hard to tell how late it was. And, the clock hanging on the living room wall had been broken for years. Sure, you could check your phone. The only problem was that that would require moving.
So, you just sipped your tea instead. After another sip you placed the still warm mug on the little table that rested beside the couch. The television played old reruns of 'NCIS' at a low volume. Neither one of you had bothered to change the channel in hours. For the same reason you two didn't check the time. Quite frankly you were glad that Carmen hadn't tried getting up. You didn't want to lose him, even for the few minutes it would take for him to do that.
You rested your head on Carmen's shoulder, your fingers going to play with his hair. He let out a satisfied him as he felt your fingers thread through his hair. Both of you had enjoyed today greatly. He hadn't had to stress about work and he had also gotten to spend the day cuddled up with you on the couch. His hand rested on your waist, his thumb absentmindedly rubbing circles on the exposed skin on your stomach.
"I need to get up," Carmen muttered, shifting his position.
