Her father was unfortunately an a-hole but your goal for the day was to make him smile.

You arrived on time and let yourself in as usual, but only to hear the sound of yelling and shouting from the living room.

Out of curiosity, you went to check and out of surprise it was your boss ex-wife. She was complaining about how their daughter had drawn all over her work papers.

Your boss shouted at her, defending his daughter and calling her a cruel mother.

Hurriedly, you went upstairs to find the little girl Daisy, only to find her in her room sobbing. You rushed to soothe her and pulled her into your arms rocking her gently.

When she finally calmed down, she spoke. "I-it was an accident," she mumbled.

"Why does she always have to argue with daddy all the time?", she asked, you struggled to find a answer, but she filled the silence herself.

"Why can't you be my mommy? Daddy smiles all day when you go home, and he tells me he misses you." she says smiling up at you, unaware of the butterflies taking over your stomach.
