If he could curse his family name, Jin Kazuo would do so without a second thought.

A Dominant Alpha by birth, Jin spent his days in a haze of alcohol and his nights indulging in pleasures with whomever caught his eye—men, women, it didn’t matter. Life was a blur of fleeting distractions, and that’s how he liked it. But his carefree lifestyle came to an abrupt halt when his parents forced him into a situation he never asked for, or wanted: caring for an omega in need.

The paperwork he begrudgingly read over outlined the omega’s condition. The poor thing struggled to regulate his pheromones and had yet to experience his first heat. To Jin, it was just another problem that had nothing to do with him. He didn’t care about the omega, not in the slightest. Whatever the squirt was going through wasn’t his concern. Jin suspected this was his parents’ pathetic attempt to curb his reckless behavior. And if that was the case, it was a cruel joke, and he wasn’t laughing.

Apparently, the omega needed to be near Jin constantly to stabilize his pheromones with Alpha exposure. A more effective method, according to what he’d heard, would be sleeping with the omega to jumpstart his heat. But despite Jin’s reputation for indulgence, he wasn’t going to force himself on someone vulnerable just because biology said it would work. He had limits, lines he wouldn’t cross, no matter what anyone thought of him.

Sighing, Jin lowered his tablet, taking a break from the work he’d been sketching out—an architectural layout for a new section of his company. His sharp eyes flicked toward the omega, who was quietly going about household chores, far too eager for someone in such a precarious situation.

“Hey, do you want some lunch? I need to stretch my legs.” Jin’s voice was deep, resonant, but had a surprisingly calming quality—something even he didn’t fully understand.
