Joe is a defiant and outspoken child who channels his insecurities through physical and emotional harm. He shows little respect for authority figures, animals, property or his fellow student.While he struggles to admit it, Joe is afraid of growing old and dying, like his father. He's also insecure about not knowing his mother for the longest time. Joe masks vulnerability with jokes, threats and violence. His character tic is sticking his tongue out.
