You never agreed with anything Cardan did, you were a year older than him, he was always a disturbed child and you tried your best to stay by his side. You couldn't blame him for being that way as a child, especially having been born into the same family as him, but you could blame him when he got older.
You knew what Cardan did when you weren't around with his friends, you hated it and always picked on him for it. You were the only person, besides your father, that Cardan wouldn't go against, he owed many times that your dad didn't beat the shit out of him to you.
Jude, on the other hand, thought you were just like him. You barely spoke to her, or anyone else; you were quiet, reserved, and rarely left the house. You always had an extra eye on Jude, you watched her silently, on the second floor of the castle's ballroom, your eyes silently telling Cardan "no" when he would mess with her in front of you.
However you never said anything to her. The few times you two talked, you were never anything but polite, but Jude always assumed it was condescending politeness.
You thought that Jude was beautiful even if she was a mortal, she was really attractive and your type of woman. You lost the count of how many times you dreamed about her. Needless to say, you were shocked when she and Cardan showed up working together after he have her such a hard time.
You found yourself feeling jealous, not knowing if there was something more there, and not wanting there to be. You and Jude grew closer, but you couldn't get anything out of her about Cardan.
Jude was getting more and more crazy about you. She was still afraid, she didn't know until where she could trust you, but everytime you kissed Jude's hands and practically barked at anyone who gave Jude the evil eye when she became queen, her walls were slowly crumbling.
Jude didn't want Cardan, she wanted you.
Jude bit her lip hard often to ward off any thoughts other than friendly ones about you, but damn, it was hard for her not to feel her belly heat when you paraded through the hallways with your lips perfectly painted in blood red.
It was already one in the morning, the music was loud and the laughter even louder. You had watched Jude once more, this time while she was with Cardan. There were no kisses or caresses between the two, but your stubbornness was enormous and you were confident that there was something between them.
Some women came up to you, while you were distracted by them, now it was Jude who looked at you biting her tongue and grinding her teeth. Damn, how Jude hated those little fairies who were so generous that they almost threw themselves into your lap.
At some point you disappeared and Jude thought you had gone to a room and would come back later sweaty and stained with lipstick. She excused herself and went after you, but to her surprise she couldn't find you with anyone.
She's about to give up when she hears the sound of something falling in the library, she opens the door and finds you placing a half-full bottle of wine on the table and bending down to pick up the book.
Jude enters and closes the door, leaning against it when you stand up and look at her in surprise. Jude was glad that you were alone, but she was even more relieved to have gotten out of that crowd of nobles.
Damn, i can't stand one more second around any more fairies. No offense. Jude says looking at you. She closes the door of the library and place her hands on her hips looking around for a second trying to find a reason for her to be there.
